I was with somebody yesterday who knows all about these things and he reckoned that Sue Gray had done nothing wrong whatsoever. Her political leanings didn’t come into it - just as I’d have expected.

He made the point that when Bernard Ingham went to work for Mrs Thatcher as Chief Press Secretary he was a Civil Servant and a card carrying member of the Labour Party. No complaints then and there shouldn’t be now.

The slur towards Grey is actually quite disgusting and un democratic, as is the leverage/intimidation JRM and the gang levied towards Harman and co.
