What are the expert views - should Burgess have stayed with Neil? Should Luongo have tracked him? Or just a good run to find the space and not a lot we could have done differently (except stop the cross)?
One of those which KM will show the team and how bad that goal was conceded from various areas of the pitch.
First. On the right. 3 town players beaten by 1 Sunderland player.
Ball finds its way across. JD and Morsy sit off the ball in the lead up to the Cross. When the cross comes in. One of Wolfenden. Burgess or even luongo need to be goalside.

It wasn’t a coincidence that it was just after JD had been down injured, certainly he defended better than that for the rest of the game.
It's a good goal from their point of view is the first thing to say, a very good ball and a tidy finish. We could have done more to close the cross down perhaps. I think Neil was Luongo's man and he lost him, Woolf is (rightly) marking space at the near post, ideally Burgess who is covering behind sees that Luongo has lost his man and gets closer to Neil to get a block in or put him off. That's being super picky/critical though.
