It's a funny thing in football. I don't consider that we had it going into the new season as we had a 3 month break. I accept that the win on sunday however gave us quite a bit back but does tonight count towards it or not?

i think momentum refers just as much to the team as to the results, i.e if a well-oiled team has been upwardly-mobile, it can continue to achieve success against teams that are maybe worth more on paper but have not yet reached top gear. The downside is that if you don't successfully progress the team they eventually get found e.g. Ipswich 2000/01 then 2001/02 or Sheffield United under Chris Wilder. |  |
