So seems likely Burgess will make the Asia Cup squad following a positive display.

The Asia Cup runs from 12 January to 10 Feb in Qatar at the World Cup stadia.

Australia already qualified, and I expect will progress to the knock out rounds being in a weak group - Syria, Uzbekistan, India

So with pre-tournament training we’re losing Burgess for some time.

Baggot will also be missing with Indonesia also qualified.

Axel hopefully will be fit and firing by then!

Outside chance of Luongo getting a call up for that as well. With the Aussie's next fixture being a friendly in England it will be interesting to see if they include him in their training camp to have a look at thim.

Worst of all (for us rather than him) we could also lose Morsy for a similar time frame to the Africa Cup of Nations.
