Two tackles which defined our team spirit 08:43 - Sep 20 with 974 viewsle2blue

Clarke’s in the middle to recover the ball after Taylor’s (I think) lost the ball and Burns flying recovery tackle where he flew in and got the ball and took out his man. Both showed unbelievable commitment to the cause, catching up with their men when they didn’t look like favourites and tackling aggressively.

As Wes said in his interview, this team really is all in and maybe this Running Towards Adversity mantra is a good way of defining it. Work ethic is different level.

It's one of my favourite things about this team. I've seen better players and better teams but I don't think I've seen a team work as hard as this one does. The old adage of wanting your team to always put a shift in as a minimum. Win or lose, this team won't be accused of not giving it everything they have.

The home fans to be honest did stick with Southampton for most of the game… and either side of us made for a good atmosphere

The saints fans were really increasing the backing and Saints players were reacting but one of those tackles really took away their belief, and the Town fans fired up again

They were crucial moments in the game

Clarke and Burns were excellent last night. I think Taylor did have good moments, with some nice passes, agree he wobbled a little, Town are another level to Posh, he’ll get there

Yeah no criticism of Taylor, I thought he had a decent first half, was starting to tire and lost concentration a couple of times. Can't imagine what it is like to come into this team, the intensity and concentration required. Our patterns of play and structure are so well defined, you can definitely see why Kieran takes time to introduce new players so they get it.

I think that is why some of the new boys take time to get to the pace. It is not just getting used to the system, it is the fitness to carry on for the full 90+. I was only watching on TV, but Williams in particular looked absolutely knackered just before he was subbed. We had a well structured pre-season so have come into the season flying - I am sure that is with a view to keeping this up throughout the 50+ matches of the season - but they are going to need a long lie down in the Summer!

It's like the guy from the PFA who's been running the coaching course at the club said the other day - 'culture' is a bit of a throwaway term that can be overused but there definitely is one here and everyone genuinely believes in it.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
