I've just finished and really enjoyed the Hyperion book series, before that read Iain M Banks culture stuff and loved it. Now looking for some recommendations, any ideas? Would love another series of books to get into.

Acquired taste, and the absence of mobile phones in the Sprawl trilogy is a bit jarring now (his one biggest failure!) but yes. If you like glacial, perfect prose and have time to concentrate...

That's a very fair comment on the mobile phone aspect. He's just a beautiful writer and great world builder. Yes the books need your full attention but I enjoy that in a novel.

He has noted himself that he wished he'd predicted something which now seems so obvious. I'm a fan of his work and hs prose.

The Expanse books are good fun.

I've been reading a series called Extinction Point about survivors of an alien invasion. It's utter tosh, but it's like one of those low-budget SyFy shows that you actually don't mind watching.
