Anyone here been to Hamburg in the winter? We’re looking for a 4-5 day break after Xmas, somewhere we can get to in a day on the train. Ideally with the chance of snow/‘proper’ cold winter weather. Stockholm would be our first choice, as we knowing it well, but it’s too far. Hamburg is probably the limit of where we can reach in a day.
Other options would be the obvious Paris, Amsterdam, Bruges, maybe Lille. Cologne would be doable, possibly Berlin too. Hamburg seems nice though with the Xmas markets. Just wondered if anyone could recommend and/or have any tips/suggestions. |  |

Yeah, that's what I realised eventually  .
Anyway, thanks all for the feedback. Sounds like Hamburg wasn't what we were looking for. After a bit of faffing, we just thought sod it and booked 8 days skiing in the French Alps, training in to Grenoble.
