I sit in the West stand, I noticed on Saturday that the grass where the subs run to warm up is looking decidedly muddy - not like the Baseball ground in the 70s but much worse than I would've expected for the new pitch.

That’s why they extended it a little bit, as subs would run up and down on the actual pitch, so it doesn’t matter if that bit wears.

That will all change when the cobbold is rebuilt slightly further back creating more room for warm ups.
