He recommended McKenna above Maresca.

Really rates him and what he has done at Ipswich.

He then wasn’t that clear, but I think he alluded that McKenna was not keen to leave Ipswich. Hence they moved on.

Not sure having a number of managers in a season has ever done any club any good and I doubt very much being one of them would have appealed much to McKenna either.

Yes, but a rumour.

I didn’t know Lineker recommended him and that it seems McKenna was approached and seemingly declined.
