Ipswich Are Massive (Part 3579835989) 17:13 - Jul 19 with 1421 viewsBlueBoots

Remember seeing a post about spotting Town shirts in unusual places but too hot / lazy today to hunt for it...

Was doing one of my regular wildlife checks at the lake in Finsbury Park (North London) this morning, and a lady walked past me with 2 small children both proudly wearing Town shirts

Just for context for people who don't know the area - the park is slap bang in the middle of Arsenal country (they even sponsor the bowls club at the park, much to the frustration of the manager who is a huge Spurs fan)

Should have got a loud Uppa Town out of me, but I was holding a pigeon at the time (to remove string from his feet), and the noise would have probably scared the little chap enough to shat on me, so will save that up for next time if I bump into them again.

Poll: My morning poo-poo took 3 flushes to clear. Who do I call?

Great! I live in the FP area and my son regularly wears an Ipswich shirt to his football in Clissold park on a Saturday morning. Another boy in his class at the local school is also a town fan. And both of those would have been in school this morning, so plenty of us around!

Clissold another of my parks I'm sure the Town fans living in Ipswich have probably got a bit tired of seeing Man U / Liverpool etc. shirts knocking around over the past few years, so hopefully a few more Town shirts gatecrashing other places as well as London in the years to come

I’m intrigued. Was this a chance encounter with a wild pigeon or one you take around with you? And how is the pigeon now?

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Just spotted the pigeon in the park with what I thought was string (turned out to be hair) tied around his feet, so grabbed him and got it off; if you ever see pigeons walking around with missing toes / feet, they've probably had string around them at some point which tightened up over time and cut them off.

Pigeon all good - caught him early enough for the hair not to have done any serious damage. Pigeons are a piece of piss - it's when I get call outs for swans with fishing line wrapped around their legs or stuck in their beaks that it gets a bit trickier

I sent an orange away shirt to my brother who lives in West Sussex. He's worn it a few times down where he lives and has been greeted every time with cheers. The Ipswich diaspora is wide.

I remember Clissold Park.
