There are a handful around us who rocked up half way through the L1 promotion season, presumably with half STs and of course stayed last season. Their levels of expectation and lack of realism are already threatening to go off the chart. Note that this is three or four separate groups, they don't all know each other. It's infuriating and so effing annoying and sometimes completely ruins the game as it's incessant and ignorant, whiny nonsense.
Fans were always going to come back in droves with the promise of winning games and playing exciting football. That's normal. It's good PR is packed again. Yet... yet I (very) weirdly miss it when we were genuinely sh1t and the complaints were justified. Obviously I prefer Town to be successful but as I've said before it's the entitlement and ignorance of my fellow fans that will drive me away rather than being thrashed on the pitch.

An experience I and many others share I'm sure. We have a lot of new fans round us who have interesting opinions to say the least. I am the sort of big mouth who as no problem telling these people to stop moaning. I had it a few times with constant criticism of Woolfy last season from those around me which drove me up the wall.
Those of us who sat through the bad stuff with 14k in the stadium and mind numbing games I'm sure appreciate this more, the last 2 years have been a dream, so i can take a battering at Man City if it comes. But as you also say it is nice to see a full Portman road that is capable of generating an atmosphere. We just really need a PR that is behind the players every game. And if that means you have to tell the annoying bloke who moans about playing out from the back to calm down... so be it. |  |

The fans should go into the season assuming we will be tank 4-0 in both of the opening games and have the mentality that the season truly starts after those two matches. When we exceed that expectation, it will be a pleasant surprise.
The players on the other hand will be taking it one game at a time. The approach should not change from last season.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if we won either of those two games. I also wouldn't be surprised if we lost both 2-0. |

I also tell them to dial it in a bit. Luckily they're all as weedy as me and there's never any aggro. It's just enervating people being such moaning nincompoops. | |
