Man Utd vs Real Bettis 21:07 - Aug 1 with 1453 viewsSoCalTownFan

Pre season friendly, went to the game last night.

Man Utd were pants. We will run rings around them. I know it was only a pre season friendly but they had zero cohesion, zero passion, zero clue.

Watched it on TV; how Betis didn’t level it up second half I will never know. Dominated them.

That seems to sum up Utd in recent seasons. They can get out of jail through a few moments of genuine quality, but they’re definitely not a team though. Garnacho would be much better off learning under KM!

"They can get out of jail through a few moments of genuine quality"
Yes! Like the second goal which was a great free kick.

This is what I dislike about clubs like Man Utd, is they can BUY success by buying exceptional players. I prefer the meritocracy of what Ipswich have done, by building a great team that is greater than the sum of its parts, and makes players better. Success through hard work, talent and initiative, I love that kind of football.

I'm reminded of the fat kid with no friends in the playground who despite living in the South East decides to be a MU supporter, because it gives them bragging rights on Monday morning. Scum, sub human scum . People like that ruined the game and made it all about money.

I’m not a fan of Man Utd but they have always been a glamour club and they have won a lot of trophies and leagues. That generates fans and a lot of cash. Their ability to buy world class players is built upon finishing in the top 4 of the PL fairly regularly. That’s how a club can buy exceptional players. People complain about the big clubs swimming in greed but a few bad seasons can result in them being a club continuously facing relegation - Everton.

If Ipswich has managed to build upon the success of the 70/80s then we would be buying world class players.

Maybe if people were nice to that fat kid, he would support their local team.
