Don’t think there’s a U21/training game going on but am prepared to stand corrected. Otherwise, are they having to burn the midnight oil to get the stadium ready for Saturday?

I'd say it's almost certainly the club trying to get the stadium ready for Saturday's opener. Ashton will have aged 20 yrs this summer, poor sod!

Went for a walk down there at about 9. Lots of work going on. All the contractors' vans still there. I think the ticket office has been given to builders as a rest area as I saw a fair few in there having a break. Lots still on site. Definitely working overnight. They'll get it done. New sign on churchman's looks really smart and brilliant to have that end of ground tidied up. Will look fantastic for those coming in from station.

Guess it's easy not to notice if not passing or go out of my way to check. Just looked and they're still on now. Good luck to the workers - sounds like they need it!
