Anyone else worried that although we are upgrading our squad thst togetherness and unity might be lacking such as ogbene coming just to cover injuries when we have harness to assist and like of burgess not starting when he was the better of the defenders keeping our clean sheets

Yes very much so. Team spirit and cohesion cannot be understated. That does not mean we can not gain that with the new players but its not a guarantee, especially when losing more games than we will be winning.

We used 28 players in league games last season. That seems to suggest that the 'Old guard' will be fully involved during the season.

Think our players would have to be pretty naïve to imagine they'd not have more competition for their places this season. Of our Championship starting eleven, I think only Davis, Morsy and Hutchinson would have expected to be nailed on starters this season. Maybe a few more might have anticipated being a likely first choice (Woolfenden, Burns, Hirst).

That said, we end up with most of the new signings in on Saturday - I do wonder how you might feel if you were assigned to mark Erling Haaland and your successor got a round of applause for successfully dealing with Rodrigo Muniz...
