It wasn’t that bad and no where near the sh£thousing their players were getting up to. Our players breath too hard in the vicinity if a Flum player? Foul and a collapse to the ground. Rolling all over grabbing and trampling our players - fair challenge.
Morsy didn’t put a foot wrong today. He didn’t give the ball away, was progressive and drove team.
Phillips? Didn’t see much of him for a lot of the first half and he then grew into the game. He’s going to be excellent. Somebody told me he’s had little pre season which is why he was subbed. Cajuste screwed up when he first came on then looked a really good player.
Hutchinson? What a player he’s going to be. Clarke is going to be an asset too. Delap and Szmodics - a handful. Defence - they did well. People having a go at Davis? Well it’s him or the keeper (who did nothing wrong) for the scapegoat brigade, as we know, but our full back had a good game. He’s always going to be better going forward but he, like all good players, is adapting.
Ogbene - played my side first half. He’s promising and did plenty of good things. I can see him and Omari one side, Clarke the other giving teams a headache.
All in all, really enjoyed the game. We are becoming competitive. You can see what they are trying to do. Enjoy it - I certainly am. Good atmosphere for a lot of it too - esp the last ten mins. Memories of the West Brom game with us really giving it a go. [Post edited 31 Aug 2024 20:40]

It was a good, interesting game to reflect on. When we get Hirst, Broadhead and Burns back, we are going to have some good options. Obviously we won’t lay a glove on the top section of teams but I think we might on the next level down. | | | |
