Perhaps a naive question, someone more in the know could answer - why don’t these horses have the equivalent of a medical prior to the event. Blood tests or some such physical thing.
I’ve never been a fan of whipping (many arguments about that on there) but heart attacks are more indicative of something medical or underlaying - which I’m Sure could be avoided?
I’ve been on the fence (no pun intended) over the horse racing debate, but I’ve reached the conclusion that we shouldn’t be using animals who have no choice in the matter for human entertainment.
