Timing of goals 21:40 - Dec 21 with 836 views | Bluebacker | 47% of the goals we have conceded have come within the first 5 minutes of a half, or the last 5 minutes of a half (plus extra time). We were always going to concede this season, but it’s the timing of a lot of these goals that is really killing us. Of course it doesn’t work this way, but if all of our matches had been played between minutes 5-40 and 50-85, we would currently have 4 wins, 7 draws and 5 losses and be 7 points better off. The result of a match is so often dictated by the flow of the game and we are giving momentum and confidence to opposition teams at the worse possible times. If we can just manage those 5 minutes at each end of the half a little bit better, it could go a long way. 15 goals conceded: 0-5 minutes - Southampton, West Ham, Man Utd, Newcastle 40-45+ minutes - Brentford x2, West Ham 45-50 minutes - Forest, West Ham, Newcastle, Brentford (Technically 51 but penalty was conceded a few minutes earlier) 85+ minutes – Leicester, Bournemouth x2, Brentford
Timing of goals on 21:47 - Dec 21 with 764 views | Stenvict | I'll never understand why from KO we hoof it forward, when at every other opportunity we knock it around at the back. Especially today when from KO we just kicked it out for a throw in, and they basically scored from it.

Timing of goals on 22:15 - Dec 21 with 629 views | bsw72 | Basically we should concede less? We’ve actually conceded less in the last 15 than 10 other sides, the problem is actually our lack of goals scored which means when we concede it is more costly. Last season we conceded 12 goals in the last 15 mins of matches, and how often did we go behind early to come back and win. Conceding in the early or late stages of halves is not a new problem, it’s the lack of goals we score which is exposing the issue.
