Just an observation. Bottom 3 are the three teams who were promoted in the same positions as we Leicester and Soton went up. I don’t expect that the league will finish this way and I expect many twists and turns but the table does not lie in terms of the massive gulf between the PL and EFL. I still think we are doing better than any of the other promoted sides in terms of historic parachute payments and squads as many have said here. The Fulham result today makes me think we can get a result against Chelsea…..
You really th8nk we’ll strengthen in Jan? It’s not just bringing in decent squad fillers that we need but some players that are better than our current best. Being able to attract and afford those players will be difficult.
I really hope I’m wrong, but I can’t see it.
Just being realistic. I think KM and the owners and MA are doing a fantastic job but I think we were promoted a bit too quickly. I hope I’m wrong but am resigned to relegation - with an expectation that we’ll continue to evolve and will come back stronger.
It has happened far more quickly than I think the owners envisioned but these people are serious. If we have a chance of staying up (which we do - in touch at Christmas, best manager out of the sides in the dogfight by miles, we should have more points) then they will provide the backing.
We were bidding 20m for strikers on transfer deadline day. There's no doubt we'll have planned something for Jan whether a loan or permanent. It will be tough for the reasons you've outlined but some players will want a chance to work with an outstanding coach who will improve them.
