Nemanja Matic linked again... on 15:05 - Jan 10 with 406 views | Vic | My first thought was ‘no chance - wrong age, wrong position, wrong everything’. But then I came to think - wwho would I rather have to come on for 20 mins to see out a game - Mass or Matic? The latter Prem experience, knowledge of McKenna, etc, makes him just the sort of player many of us were expecting/hoping we’d sign last August. No he’s not the forward we need, but he’d certainly bring much needed experience to a very young squad.

He does appear to fit the mould of what we're missing this season, as well. As others have pointed out, in previous seasons we've had the likes of Keogh, Ball, and Aluko in the 'seasoned senior pro who can play a bit' role. Matic would be a perfect fit, if this is what McKenna is after.
