... well, not sure what to make of him, at all.
A Mackem mate of mine says that we're playing him out of position - I hear that he should be out on the touchline, proverbial chalk on boots, cutting in and providing assists/ shots as per his efforts at Fulham.
As it stands, I'd argue he's had the least impact of any signing - but struggling to see where he fits into the line-up at present, or, indeed, where he offers anything different.
Proper weird one; after almost 6 months here you'd be hoping for a little more. |  | | |  |

My main criticism of him is that he offers almost nothing defensively. He jogs alongside the runner without pressuring (apart from one comic attempt at a tackle last night if I recall correctly). He's quite lightweight and has no chance shoulder-to-shoulder with most of the prop forwards we seem to be up against. He's got beautiful feet though, and if he can be a little more intelligent with his final ball he can be a fine player. |  | | |

Yes, lightweight is also the word that comes to mind for me quite regularly with him, unfortunately, including last night. And it's not like he's a promising but wiry 18 year old who still needs to bulk up - he's 24. He does seem to get muscled off the ball quite easily.
I think a few of our dribblers have struggled for end product in the Prem, including Omari last night, and JClarke did have a good game in the Cup, so I won't go in too hard on that side of things. |  | | |

I didn't see him as worse than others last night, but that's a low bar for the period when he was on the pitch.
He played one of the better passes of the game, his flighted switch ball to Omari in good space on the wing. He got the better of a couple of players around the halfway line, earning two fouls and a yellow card for Veltman. His other passes were accurate but they were also safe, not advancing the play. He was muscled off the ball once in a ground duel where he got the first touch in. Is that a fair overview?
I don't remember him receiving a pass at the sharp end of the pitch, which is a familiar story for us. The little good work we achieved in the second half looked to revolve around creating some space for Omari, which kept coming to nought unfortunately. |  | | |
