Is it harsher to believe his fitness and legs are now drifting from him, or that he's now playing at a level slightly above his ceiling? Less about which is harsher I suppose, more about which is right.

He's spent his whole career before this season in the EFL, some 500-odd games. His loftiest move was to Middlesbrough five years ago; the club were lower-half Championship at the time. He lost his place in his debut season and the rest is ITFC history.

I believe this is just another one of our players grappling with the enormous jump in quality. Morsy is a top professional and would have been in the same school year as Mo Salah. Should we be relegated, I see no reason why he couldn't be the beating heart again in what's a far weaker division.
