I fear another summer of job speculation and wonder if in part this is why our recruitment was so poor as many weeks spent trying to convince him to stay and then panicked at the end.

I feel he owes it to us to have another go at bringing back us up. We have stayed loyal to him and he needs to now re-pay that.

Once relegation is confirmed we need to have a serious look at where we are going to be for next season. There is no way we can keep all the players we have happy playing in the Championship e.g. one team spot for Broadhead/Clarke/Philogene. The defensive issues, why would Woolfy and Burgess want to be reserves or if say Greaves is sold why would Burgess want to stay knowing if we go back up he won't get a game. The goalkeeping situation, we will practically have no central midfield, Delap will be sold so one striker who spends a lot of time injured and so on.

McKenna has done many great things but I really feel next season should he remain here will be his biggest challenge as its imperative we bounce back or we could easily find ourselves going full circle.

The Coventry game next week will tell us a lot as we will be playing them next season and it's likely the reserves who will most likely still be here will play.

He owes us nothing, he’s been loyal by not joining Palace or Brighton.

Whether anyone wants him or not is another question.

Recruitment has not been poor, we are buying in a very difficult and competitive area of the market, young up and coming premier league players with expected improvement in them. Big clubs can afford to buy them on wages we cannot compete with in the hope they come good, if not make money from loan fees then sell them on. Buying players as an upwardly mobile League 1 or Championship club is far easier with much less competition than where we are now. KMc will go at some point he is far too good a manager to remain at Town, we have to be honest here, but until Town have been in the Premier League for two or three seasons and are an established there with no chance of relegation, we will not attract any top quality players.

It has been poor. We signed a boatload of Championship level players for hugely inflated prices and tried to integrate them with very little time. We have not specifically signed young up and coming Premier League players. We’ve signed players from Hull, Sunderland and Blackburn who we were streets ahead of last season. We signed from Burnley who were dire in the Premier League and looked miles off the level required. Even Hutchinson and Delap had purely Championship experience. It’s the same with Philogene.

We’ve spent £100mil plus on players that might assure us of a top 7 finish in the Championship next season. Depending on the managerial situation. If we’d have stayed down and done that we’d be absolutely screaming if promotion wasn’t assured, we’re now relegated as a result.

Recruitments been poor. We’ve been caught with our pants down.

I agree we won't attract top quality players but lesson learned for me this year is we need to buy premier league experience even if that means Bournemouth reserves etc. What you say emphasises my point we bought for re-sale rather than to stay up.

Vincent Kompany did OK after relegation with Burnley. He got himself a job at some minor Bundesliga club
