Around 3pm the ticketing site said 'sold out' for the fixture having had only a handful of tickets rattling around for a few hours. So it seems fairly safe assumption to say that the Coventry City Away fixture sold-out today (Season Ticket Window) and will remain so, so the Ticket Sales 'Profile' for the fixture will be as below.
Summary
The Club announced an allocation of 4892 tickets had been provided, total seat-map count ran at 4885.
The seat-map suggests 42 wheelchair + assistant spaces, 175 seats unavailable for purchase (initially this was 273, but ballot seats, estimated at 98, were released back into the general sales pool at 5+).
There were therefore 4668 seats made available for sale in 'points-based' / season-ticket-holder sales windows.
1191 (25.51% of available seats) seats sold in the 30+ window.
360 (7.71%) seats sold in the 25+ window.
101 (2.16%) seats sold in the 20+ window.
349 (7.48%) seats sold in the 15+ window.
1219 (26.11%) seats sold in the 10+ window.
1036 (22.19%) seats sold in the 5+ window.
412 (8.83%) seats sold in the 'Season Ticket Holder' window.
Points of note:
* By far our largest allocation this season.
* All windows 20+ and up saw about a 40-50% decline in sales over what would usually be expected from a Premiership weekend fixture. Anecdotal evidence suggests this is, in part, due to higher-point members waiting for lower windows to buy seats together with friends / family. Some of the sales drop will inevitably be to do with it being only the Cup, we've been there recently, etc.
* No away-points allocated to prevent purchasing with no intention of attendance (a la AFC Wimbledon), this will have contributed (to some extent) to slower sales in higher-windows too.
* First opportunity for Season Ticket Holders, or 5+ members to purchase Away during the normal 'sales' windows (and a rare opportunity for 10+, last sale to reach 10+ was Southampton, 11 sales ago).
* Combine the 10+ and 5+ Windows (2255 tickets combined), deduct a estimated number for higher-point members choosing to buy late to sit with friends/family (pure guesswork, I went with 255), and we're left with circa 2000 who fit the criteria of "desperate to see Town on the road, any game'll do".
* As this sale made it to 5+, all seats reserved for the ballot were released back into the 5+ pool for purchase, I adjusted totals etc as if those tickets were available from day 1 (based on the assumption of 98 intial ballot-reserved seats) to avoid the appearance of them being 'sold' in 10+.
