Everton's new stadium 08:33 - Feb 18 with 6147 viewsDJR

Everton's U18s played a test game at the new stadium last night in front of 10,000 spectators in one stand.

Here is a couple of links with photos and a video.

In terms of location, it sure is spectacular being right next to the Mersey, and I just hope we stay up so I get a chance to go there next season, especially given the fact my late father-in-law is one of the 36,000 with a personalised brick in the walkway outside the largest stand.

Another test game today, this time with 25,000 spectators, and an evacuation after 65 minutes.

Here's the Liverpool Echo take, but having experienced terrible queues after various away games this season, I don't suppose Everton will be any worse. And sadly, it doesn't look like we will be going there any time soon.

I might add that I was alerted to this by my wife whose train had broken down at Sandhills and was told there were thousands of fans leaving the ground, thus lessening her chance of getting a taxi.

It's got to be a 40 minute walk to Lime St - or quicker if pursued by the Stanley Road Cutters
