21 years ago Fleetwood were playing at the same level as Whitton United are now.

Watched his Darlington side lose 3-1at Farsley Celtic in the national league North. Tough old game this management lark.

I've been brooding upon something about pride and defiance. I know bread of heaven is Welsh but it's only the LP version of you're not singing anymore.

if anyone fancies a football trip next season - just got back from Bratislava. Went to Rapid Vienna on Saturday and Slovan Bratislava on Sunday. Both good days out, easy to buy tickets, easy to get to and from , rail standing, plenty of cheapish beer and food at ground. A pleasant change. Recommended.

Brighouse Town v Morpeth in NPL Div 1 East. £8 handpulled ale for £3 and home made pies. I can hardly bear to leave the clubhouse.

Apart from the doomed Albion Rovers, no-one in the senior leagues in England or Scotland has won fewer games than either us, Huddersfield and St Mirren - and we've played 6/7 more games. Notts County, which almost redefines dysfunctional club and who are 92nd have won twice as many league games as us. I still believe though!

Sorry if this is old news. I was leafing through one of the hoolie books in Smiths (honest) and there was a chapter on geezerish actor and professional Millwall fan Frank Harper - The Football Factory, Lock Stock etc. Turns out his dad was David Harper who played 72 times for the Town in the mid sixties. He was at Millwall previously. He tells the story of his dad while zr Town being told to get all over Bobby Moore. Didn't work - he came off bedraggled having lost 4-0 and Moore looked like he'd just put his kit on.
