For those who remember the erstwhile glovesman, just been appointed manager at 'crisis club' Farsley Celtic in National League North. He's a local lad but by heck he's got his work cut out.
I was at Gateshead v Farsley in the FA Trophy last night. The only away fan. The game was abandoned as. Farsley player had a cardiac arrest on the pitch. He needed CPR before being taken to hospital. Thankfully he's awake and talking. It was very scary for a while. It really did hit home that this is only a game and there really are more important things in life than getting too wound up about football.
Not at all complimentary about the condition and location of Sir Alf's statue - albeit a couple of years ago. Where else could it go - other than in between ' a couple of non descript car parks and a generic football stand'. Or is it fine where it is?
One fact I didn't know that all 92 league clubs were invited to send a representative to his memorial service at St Mary's but only 5 turned up.
I'm in Madrid next week and trying to get tickets to the Morocco v Peru friendly at Atletico. The only tickets I've seen for sale are from scalper sites or the Moroccan FA. Can't see anything on Atletico or Peru FA. Any ideas? Thanks
