For what it's worth, the BBC are at least ,nowadays, open to their mistakes, admit, investigate them and occasionally even apply some accountability. It's not much, but it's a start. Generally, the first place I generally hear about a BBC scandal is on Radio 4 news.

As far as I know Rebekah Brooks(for example) is still very highly placed in the Murdoch organisation.

It's a depressingly low bar right now. Frankly, we need a bit more shame in public life right now.

To be fair Badger, you probably hear about a BBC scandal on Radio 4 news because you listen to Radio 4 news.

I reckon The BBC has so much awful historic stuff that we don't know about. We will possibly hear about 10% of this in the years to come, just like we probably know of 10% of what is happening right now.

This isn't just a knock at The BBC because a bloody great lot of the brigade are arguably a load of cretinous, bearded, fluffy jumper type people. It's because they are / were / still are / the sort of organisation where a whole lot of people want to work and because of this the sh1t keeps on a coming.

Wherever there are positions that are sought after, there are unscrupulous people who want to take advantage.

The problem with The BBC is not that it happened, it's because they allowed it to happen and were fully aware.
