I can see the logic with respect to the loanees but surely rather a depressing insight if that represents the view of management about our own players. Or does it just confirm that we are a nursery for the bigger clubs?

But that's true for all but about a dozen teams in the world. When you have Chelsea, Man City etc players on loan in the PL then by definition if they were good enough they'd be playing for their parent clubs.
