I saw Terry Hall at Reading Uni, probably 1984 or 85 so assume it was Fun Boy Three then. I don't remember anything about the songs played but it was the most violent gig I've ever been to. A mix of skinheads, national front, mods, punks, squaddies, rastas, students and people probably expecting Bananarama to appear.
Would loved to have seen The Specials, originals or reformed. I probably listen to them more now than I did back then.

Saw them at V in 2009. Whilst they were great, it wasn’t ideal, pockets of people of a certain age dancing their tits off whilst the majority remained sitting down waiting for Lily Allen.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I saw them at the Students Union at Coventry Uni (the Planet) in 98 or 99. It felt really something to see them play in their hometown.
It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

I saw the Specials at the old Hammersmith Palais in 1980. They were excellent, but they did attract an awful skinhead following, who drenched the lead singer of support band The Swinging Cats in spittle. The guy did bravely finish the set, though.
