I seemed to be the only one in the NSL bemoaning Palmer for the first goal yesterday. Am I the only one on here who thought he was criminally slow in getting down to the shot? Morsy's ice-cold glare at him suggested he felt Palmer should've done much better too.
There seems to be a real love-in with Palmer among the fans (simply because he's not Muric, perhaps?) But I can't really see much difference between him and Walton IMO. |  | | |  |

I think overall he's been steady. I think he built quite a lot of credit in the bank for the performance away at Villa on his league debut. The Chelsea second half was a reminder of his best too.
I think there's been a few goals that he's conceded that I thought he should've done better on, but I guess he's got the credit in the bank with the fanbase that Muric never built up. I could only imagine the reaction if it was Muric in net when Palmer made that mistake against Wolves...
Palmer will be good for us in the Championship, but I'm not sure he'd be our number 1 if we bounced back to the PL. |  |

I was at the game, and thought he had a good game, as did presumably many on TWTD.
As it is, I have only missed 3 games home and away this season, and I don't have any agenda against Muric (for whom I feel rather sorry), so it's not blue-tinted spectacles for me that make me rate Palmer. [Post edited 23 Apr 2025 9:34]

One 5.9 rating doesn’t prove he’s overhyped—especially when his season average is 6.78, which is second to only Enciso in the team, and higher than Delap’s 6.71. A single game doesn’t outweigh consistent performances across the season. So no, I don't think it does support your view at all. [Post edited 23 Apr 2025 9:50]
