I think thats the thing the people who think the argument is about whether its a yellow or not are missing. if thats a yellow fine, modern games gone, but fine thats a yellow, so lets apply it every time it happens. because thats consistent and fair isnt it ? those are the rules arent they ? and yet just from our own games this season, let alone the rest of the Premier league games, its not is it, thats never applied consistently, weve had opposition players in games go down like theyve shot by a sniper with no contact from ours. there was one I think recently, think it was Spurs at home could have been another team though, but the oppo player was expecting a tackle to come in as they ran into the box with the ball, our defender checked up for some reason or stopped to try to block the angle of the expected cross, yet their player still threw themselves theatrically to the ground rolled around as if theyd been taken out at knee height, they might even have appealed for it, yet there was no one within a yard of him, ref just waves play on. and thats just the most memorable one, half the teams weve played would have had multiple players on yellow cards for simulation, some might even also have been sent off as well. so its not consistently being applied, and thats the real beef with Johnsons yellow card, and why it feels Town dont get the rub of the green with these decisions. | |
