Personally I think IF we can keep him fit, Hirst is more than capable to be the main number 9, and we just need an equivalent as backup.
I still think Delap was signed to be a winger but became unplayable at the start of the season when Hirst was dropped, and we carried on from there. |  |

The problem is Hirst's injury record isn't great but I agree if he's fit he'll do well for us.
I really don't see that Delap was signed to be a winger though, he was always going to be the main striker. The £30m relegation clause still irks me, especially when you see Cunha's buyout clause is north of £60m! |  | | |
