Not quite sure what to make of greaves. So intrigued to hear posters thoughts.
When he first came in he looked the absolute business. Then got injured and I was never sure he got over it properly as he'd lost that solidarity about him.
I do remember tho that I felt Sammy s helped because he'd played more with Davis which in turn helped provide more cover at the back which enabled greaves to concentrate on his role, yet when he came back from injury we'd lost Sammy to his injury etc and we never seemed to fix that left hand side davis cover issue which maybe caused a knock on with the lcb spot. |  |

Good competition for that slot I think and maybe a bit of 'horses for course' for some games. Think the club we'll be hoping that Greaves gets back to his best with a good preseason as we'll want to maximise his value.

I'd still like us to experiment with a 5-2-2-1 system.
Greaves, Kipre/Woolfy, O'Shea as the CBs with Leif and Johnson as WBs, with Matusiwa stepping over the cover the gap left behind when one of those goes WBs goes forward. | |

We achieved our best results when Burgess partnered O’Shea last year, so although I’m disappointed he left, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if his replacement is the best option alongside O’Shea.
But then, we achieved by far our best results when Morsy started, and he’s, well let’s say departed. So maybe it’s just the case that nothing was good enough last season and we start with a completely clean slate. If Greaves is to be the man, then building him up in the Championship is certainly easier than the Prem.
