Context for the window so far 18:32 - Aug 11 with 360 viewsBlueandTruesince82

Its difficult for a lot of clubs isnt it.

Obviously not direct comparisons given different division but I imagine in some (not all) instances we might be looking at similar player profiles but look at the following

1. Newcastle hardly signed anyone, lost out on most of their preferred targets, best player wants his big move.

2. Palace, very little movement in, Glasner frustration, big name departures, Guhei looks like getting sold or leaving next summer for free.

3. Bournemouth, lost their entire back 4 now (bringing in the tune of £150m in the process) struggled to replace with real quality.

4. Everton, looks like they might be about to get Grealish on loan which is a great signing for them but its been a long window comming, struggled to add players.

On the other hand Sunderland really going for it but are the they getting quality.

As I say, not directly comparing but I think it illustrates what a tough window it is, esp for us who are looking for players who can step up with us but are prepared to that from the championship

Our friends up the road have brought in about 11 so far.

Whether that is a good or bad sign remains to be seen.

Yes but none of them have cost very much have they, maybe Saturday is just them bedding in and cost doesnt automatically equate to quality of course but have they unearthed 11 gems?

We'll see but that average player cost suggests a very different market place to us
