The club have done brilliant here , Omari looked good in the championship and totally bang average last season at PL level , couldn’t ever beat his defender always cutting back inside and no end product at all. Your are correct he would have been a “cheat code “ at this level this level was literally the last time he put in a high class performance for us , at Pl level he is currently not good enough but maybe good enough one day in a better side but that’s no good to us a sulking kid is not what the club needed to get us out of this league we need men who are prepared to put it on the line every week ! Let’s hope he turns into a good Pl player and we benefit from a sell on clause in 5 years time but right now and here this deal is amazing and if you read the vast majority of comments across neutral social media platforms from opposing supporters the consensus seems to be that he is vastly overrated and that Forest are overpaying which is my view too but let’s see ! |
If you think that he didn't have any good games last year, you clearly saw less games than I did.
His stats in terms of getting the team up the pitch were right up there in the top sector of that metric for the entire league, let alone us and when he didn't play we certainly missed that.
I honestly think that in a better side with better teammates around him, he would show more. | |

Let's not do this guys. He's a great talent and still young so plenty of room to develop. He did fine for us last year - if he hadn't, we wouldn't be getting circa £40m for him. We were a bad side and it was hard for our attackers to show off their talents (yes, I know they also contributed to us being bad).
Elanga has moved on and in a counter attacking Forest side he should be a good fit on that wing. He might find himself on the bench sometimes this season but that doesn't make the move a failure - the season after will be when he really needs to nail down his position or be concerned.
We don't need to like him, we don't need to wish him well... but lets not revise history or take petty shots. Sometimes the most painful thing is to be ignored. | | | |
