It’s not just Clarke though, for Clarke to be the player he was at Sunderland, he needs to have the right support behind and next to him.
I think Clarke is restricted by Johnson and Taylor’s positional awareness and type of movement around him. I’d like to see how Clarke played with Young behind him and Cajuste next to him.
It’s not as simple as just the one player out of form, it’s the supposed triangles of play that a winger/fullback and centre mid should create. It’s working a little better on the left, but only a little. |  | | |
