Bit of empathy for KM 17:53 - Aug 25 with 3425 viewsjasondozzell

High pressure job. Handsomely rewarded but it must be so demanding.

No real time off in summer. No control over the vagaries of the transfer market. Having to integrate new players and build a new side under pressure from the off. Expectations sky high. Probably at their highest since he joined the club.

He knows the deal but blimey it must be demanding. All that and a young family.

I am absolutely convinced he will continue to do an excellent job and get us back up.

Get behind him and support him.

KMcK is still a young coach and relatively inexperienced across many scenarios albeit he has experienced a lot in a short time but not the turnaround of a long series of bad results.

Stick to the process and one game at a time mantra has typically led to improvement of results but there is misplaced frustration and focus on KMck at this time. That’s ok because he’s the manager and has to get the team to play and win.

Fans seem to be hurting about being relegated and not winning much when most of us have moved on and recognised that for what it was, time for that out pouring was in May,

Fans are now hurting because the transfer window hasn’t gone as they expected,

Fans are now hurting because we have started the season a little slower than they expected.

I come with news.

The same time, effort, focus on detail it required to stop the ball rolling down the hill in League One is now required from everyone including supporters given the ball has been rolling down hill quite fast recently. The club has helped by stripping out some players that might be detractors to that and help us go forward faster, this transfer window remains unfinished with a little squad depth to reestablish.

I note given this was a OP about empathy,

there is quite a lot about big boys and their expectations, time to face reality. Expectations are not the same as reality and they are unfortunately a bit misaligned.

Try to enjoy the season.

You’ve forget the following

- listen, I’ve got even more grey hairs
- listen, I will not rest until I get this special football club where it should be
- listen, I might sit down with a large drink tonight
- listen…

Side note, I fcking hate when anyway starts a sentence ‘listen’ like from a young age I wasn’t taught to respect when someone starts speaking to listen to their view point or instruction. I don’t need telling to LISTEN, you are speaking, I am listening.

Is '"listen" the new "look"?

That one used to grate on me. I always thought that was a bit of an Aussie trope.

Sorry but little sympathy from me to anyone at the club at present….

Players who earned McK and no doubt Ashton their increased salaries shouldn’t have been let go!

Broadhead for one, still under contract and should have been rewarded with a new deal

Morsy - should have kept until January and brought in someone to learn off him

Lack of leadership on and off the field

As for Baby Spice on the right wing on Saturday, words fail me

Poll: Positive or Negative towards Paul Cook..,?

Broady wanted to go. It doesn't sound like he would have signed a new contract. I was devastated to see him go but not sure there's much KM could do. Look at his comments on it.

Sammy is a tricky one. Again it's not simple. I would have kept him but who knows how easy that was or if it would not be in the club's future interests.

Jack Clarke is a good player but he's lacking confidence and has been for some time.

He spent all last summer, agreeing terms with Brighton, to secure a deal for himself to make managers managing in Europe blush.

Its’s the least pressure imaginable. He never has to work again if he doesn’t want to. EVER.

Someone struggling to pay bills has a million times his pressure…, and rightly because of his relative success, he’s had zero pressure from fans. Or from above.

Most clubs after spending £170 million and having the worst season in their history would have done the inevitable.., Southampton have had THREE managers in that time, all of whom did better.

He has limitless support from all stakeholders. Rightly or wrongly, so how on earth is that pressure?

Getting many things so wrong, that is pressure, from himself, because it does seem he made promises that he fell well short of, and I suspect being so far off the standard has come as a shock.

But it’s a tough sport.

Save your empathy for those that warrant it .., the good people who will lose their jobs. Under new ownership, because of his spending and his failures.

How many staff left in the summer, because they know what’s coming?

They wouldn’t be able to find new clubs after the season starts. And they don’t get paid enough to stay out of work.

THEY deserve empathy, KM will walk in to another job, with only the weight of his wallet weighing him down.

He never deserved a champions league contract, and he was never justifying they, in the contract period.

That was woeful strategic planning with zero backbone.

I don’t think you understand the consequences of him ‘securing his future’ and spending £150 million on top.

We are for sale.

It will define our long term future if we don’t get up this season.., especially with all the loans.

You put a manger before the club for your EGO.., nothing more, nothing less.

You invested in him individually.

The CLUB is more important than any manger. And any CEO.., and last summer, and now, you just don’t get that.

Your attachment to KM dwarfs your support for our club.

Your ignorance of the consequences. Is why you can’t see the wood for the teees…, 1 win at home, worst season ever, losing to third division reserve sides, our league one side is better than the team HE built with £170 million and counting.

And you clapped at a champions league contract to lose to teams whose squads cost £5 million.

You need some standards.
