62 years of highs and lows 14:47 - Aug 29 with 433 views | Twinge | My first game at Portman Road was as a child in 1959, we lost but I kept the faith. I remember my father a Sunderland fan ribbed me over the 1963 Fulham and other humiliations, in my late teens and twenties I experienced the highs of the Robson years and although the last time I attended Portman Road was in the 1990’s, I still consider myself an avid fan, if an armchair one through the bad times followed by the good. To get to the point of my first post here, in those 62 years I have never experienced the excitement of refreshing TWTD every half hour or so, as I have in the past two days, its up there with the highs and cancels out the lows, just to see the juvenile repose from across the border. It feels like the good times are here again and I see a narrow win tomorrow.
62 years of highs and lows on 14:56 - Aug 29 with 365 views | Nthsuffolkblue | In my first game, we lost 0-1 to Man Utd. Again, seen some real highs and real lows. Missed the best of the Robson years but trips to Wembley and Europe along with many other lesser highs are good memories. This does have that feel about it but we still have to see how it all pans out. One thing I was thinking, though, is this. Their 16 years of dominance started with them getting relegated and included a Town loanee scoring a brace against them in 1-7 home reverse to Col U. Could it be ending with one of their star players becoming a blue and helping us to show them who really is the Pride of Anglia. He appears to be a passionate fellow.
