Dead ball specialist, Marcelino Núñez? 08:36 - Aug 31 with 558 viewsBeachBlue

After watching the anti football equation in action yesterday, definitely the worst since we lost 1-0 away at Gareth Ainsworth's Wycombe.
It makes me believe that we desperately need a dead ball specialist. Someone who can curl in a free kick over the wall into the top corner (or top bins to use modern youth terms!) or can fire in a corner or free kick from out wide. Fingers crossed Núñez can do this.
We finally scored from a corner yesterday and I'm increasingly believing our set pieces will be the difference this season.

Also apologies for my ill thought post about McKenna and his commitment after the Preston match. I broke my personal rule of never post on the internet when you're angry and consequently made a right pratt of myself.

Where does Nunez fit in?

Serious question, as Matusiwa and Cajuste are a good pairing.

Poll: Would Lambert have acheived better results than Cook if given the same resources

Maybe in a deep lying forward role behind Hirst or Azon.

Suspect he’ll replace Cajuste on 70 mins so we can manage his game time.

Either that or it was just a very expensive way to troll Norwich…

Also, with Azon and or Akpom in the middle to get onto the end of crosses, both big strong players who are really good with their feet as well as in the air. I am very happy with the new players we saw yesterday and can't wait to see Nenez and Egeli in action.
The coaches now have to get them all into the patterns of play and gell as a team, which unsurprisingly was largely missing yesterday, apart from small periods of play.

I can't imagine he moved here to play 20 mins a game.

I think we struggle to manage squad depth v keeping players happy.

The role or box to box midfielder is very intense, as we saw yesterday it will take two of them to maintain a high level of performance and raise the tempo at the end of games. Also lot of Saturday, Tuesday Saturday games as well. They will need to rotate to keep up the pace of play needed to get those last minute winners.
