Have we seen so many penalties involving Ipswich this early in the season? 13:02 - Aug 31 with 368 views | TheBoyBlue | One at Birmingham, another one at Preston, two yesterday. And of course the shoot-out at Bromley. Seems a lot already.

In fact we should've had another one yesterday. It is unusual, we've been used to just not getting them. Didn't we only get awarded a handful of penalties over both the promotion seasons? I seem to remember getting only 2-3 each season, but deserving much more. It didn't really improve last year either, I was expecting more due to VAR, but seeing as we had very limited amount of play in the oppositions penalty area it's no shock we didn't get many. Also, we were denied a couple of pens which we shouldn't have been (Leif at Man City and Jack Clarke overturned against Everton, off the top of my head). Essentially, so far, other than Hirst being hacked down, and getting yellow carded for the pleasure, we have been getting good decisions, so far. Hopefully, it will stay that way for the rest of the season, and we will get the rub of the green, like Leeds/Leicester did last time we were in this league.

Oh I wasn't suggesting they were the wrong decisions, it just suddenly struck me and I don't recall there being so many penalties involving us this early in. You are otherwise spot on in your assessment. [Post edited 31 Aug 13:41]
