Have we lost the plot? 16:32 - Sep 1 with 561 viewsnodge_blue

- Chaplin is still the best no 10 at the club. Szomidics cant play that role. Maybe Nunez is going in there?

- Davis playing narrow when he got stacks of assists playing high and wide before.

- 11 mil on Macateer???

- Philogene - has he ever had a run yet which gets the crowd on its feet and roaring? 20 mil.

- Zero goals this season from open play excluding the OG. And hardly any shots created.

- Still gifting poor goals ourselves.

Long way to go, but we look way off it atm and transfer business is just wild.

Can't help but feel he still had a role to play, even if he wasn't going to be a nailed on starter. People objecting this seem to get assumed to be overly sentimental. I'm not sure that's reasonable, if you take any emotion out of it entirely, forget the fact he was such a big part of our journey and just look at the player today and his role in the squad and the balance of the squad I think there's more merit in having Chaplin at our disposal than Harry Clarke.

You then consider the assumed terms of the deal and financial benefit which might justify it, but with a loan deal like this I don't really get it tbh. More for his benefit than the squads I would say.

Nothing to do with sentimentality. He is the best 10, in terms of having actually shown he can do it, we have.

He is also a player, like Wolfy, who seems instrumental in stitching together then quick patterns and passes that are being coached and making it all work. Every time he has played in the last 12 months, it has been noticeable that we look more coherent as a side.
