3 consecutive seasons of promotion/relegation 20:05 - Sep 1 with 294 viewsthebooks

Obscene amounts of money in the PL and a couple of our younger players having a good season = a lot of churn – inevitably, I think.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d rather we had a core that had stayed more or less the same, but I think this is how most PL/yoyo teams operate now. Guess fans stay happy if the results follow.

I think we just had a perfect storm with that team that got us up. Not only were they really tight knit and produced quality football, but they were also signed for their character and they were all extremely likable personalities. I hope we're able to fall for this new bunch like we could for the old, but I doubt it

It's a good point. We're not used to it whatsoever.

We went basically a decade of spending little to no money, good players generally not wanting to come to us and other teams generally not wanting any of our players.

A lot of players we had during the 2010s were almost lucky to be at the club, rather than the club being lucky to have them. While some of the current lot do seriously need to start showing something, hopefully that's starting to turn the other way.

Poll: Pick a goal to win the derby in stoppage time...

Yeah, that was some team, wasn’t it? We’ll always have the memories – I doubt Southampton at home will be bettered in my lifetime.

The new lot seem a nice enough bunch, tbf.
