Read that on here yesterday & thought at the time that’s a little harsh, feel free to hold your head in shame whoever it was!
And McAteer had a couple of decent shots & was steady on the right, he will do nicely there thank you, KMc will bring him on!

It wasn't me but it's not a million miles away from something I would have said previously.

Before last night he's been terrible for us, I stand by that. Potential is great but we need to see it, and we saw it spades last night so fair play to him. I still question his decision making at times but if he can score goals like that it might not matter too much.

I haven’t seen that much of him, but was quite impressed by him in one of the pre-season games.

I can’t remember which one. Away in Europe. France maybe? Streamed.

Anyway, glad he’s showing it now. Long may it continue.

Don’t think he had been anywhere near the worst player this season, just average and not doing what he was billed as winning eg winning 1 v 1s, dribbling, creating , scoring which for £15-20m was disappointing but no one had impressed and we were creating little

Terrible is overstating things massively

The only Muff in Town.

I was also including last season's performances in that, rightly or wrongly. He was signed as a premier league player after all.

You're right to point out the fact no one was really standing out before last night, but I did feel his direct competition Jack Clarke had offered more in terms of dribbling and creativity.

But I've probably been harsh and he has silenced some doubters, so good on him!

He'd never been terrible, but looked nowhere near like a however-many-million player. I personally wasn't sold at all, but it's so clear how confidence helps him. It'll be the same as Clarke whom I have so much hope for
