25/26 Blackburn Away Match Ticket Sales 'Profile' 10:30 - Sep 18 with 387 viewstommcd

It's a couple of days until the Blackburn match, there may be a handful of last minute sales before the sale is 'closed', but I've a busy couple of days coming so I'm drawing a line under it as of 0930 on Thursday.

The Sales Profile for the fixture is therefore (pretty much) as below.

Summary (as of 0930 Thursday 18th Sept):

The Club announced an initial allocation of 4000 tickets had been provided, with more to be made available if those sold out. Initially Blocks S04 and S03 were available for sale (2000 seats, including 28 wheelchair / assistant spaces). Throughout the course of the sale, additional seats were gradually added across Blocks S02 and S01 (including some additional wheelchair + assistant spaces). At my final count:

- A total of 4375 tickets had been 'allocated' to us.

- The Club retained 180 seats for Club allocation / steward use (assume no ballot allocation as the sale reached 'general' level).

- A total of 48 wheelchair + assistant spaces had been made available.

- A total of 4129 tickets had been made available for purchase for across Member, Season Ticket and General Sales.

- A total of 3833 tickets have been sold (inc wheelchair / assistant, exc club retained) during Member, Season Ticket and General Sales.

Per Window Sales:

- 565 (13.68% of available seats) seats sold in the 30+ window.

- 627 (15.19%) seats sold in the 25+ window

- 214 (5.18%) seats sold in the 20+ window

- 164 (3.97%) seats sold in the 15+ window

- 579 (14.02%) seats sold in the 10+ window

- 308 (7.46%) seats sold in the 5+ window

- 230 (5.57%) seats sold in the Season Ticket window

- 1098 (26.59%) seats sold in the General window

- 344 (19.34%) remained released but unsold.

Points of note:

* Sales were slow across nearly all Windows, picking up significantly at General Sale. It's hard to read too much into this; effectively this fixture wasn't going to sell out (with around 7000 tickets potentially available if requested) so there's an inevitable and unquantifiable number of members who will have left it until later windows to purchase with more occasional attendees.

* Despite the above; it's probably reasonable assumption that quite a few higher-pointers have given this one a swerve (we've been in recent seasons, it's quite a trek, there's engineering work on the trains, etc), countered by many who have been 'locked out' for a while taking advantage of a large allocation.

* Overall, sales are around 500 down vs the Preston v ITFC fixture.

* Despite marginally slower sales vs Preston, we've still outsold the other lot up the road by a factor of 3.5 for the equivalent fixture (they took 1083 to Ewood three weeks ago).

Might not be a complete sell out but that’s still a heck of an away attendance for the distance.

And fair play to the people who are putting their money where their mouth is and going to games now tickets are available.

Amazing! 3833 is up to ten times as many as there were of us as were there when I first went in 1986. We had plenty of room on a big terrace at one end, total crowd was fewer than 5000! How things have changed!

Veni Vidi Participatur. Now we can get back to competing.
