only got updates via skysports news as was decorating.

sounds like greaves cant deal with a ball over his head and face towards goal? Birmingham game was the same i remember. If so he'll be done in the prem easy and teams will work it out in the champ.

Sheff united were the worst champ team ive ever seen prior to this after 20 mins (but i think we just sat back as we did in the champ last time then 20 mins in start going for it). I could just see us learning a lesson at blackburn but was it that way or were we just unlucky?

side thought - it feels like we have no use for szmodics and he just seems to get in the way. Perhaps a jan sale?

It wasn't a ball over Greaves' head, so much as a high, looping clearance which dropped into the space behind everybody pushing up in attack. Greaves just got a bit outpaced having to turn and chase the Blackburn forward.

We had a decent shot on gaol within the first couple of minutes. Blackburn were a lot better than SheffU.

Szmodics was in the box, harrassing defenders and taking shots at goal. Hardly 'in the way'. He's the player who comes on for Akpom in the centre of the attacking three, tho in this match Akpom was sacrificed for Kipre after the red card, so he was more on the right.

Tough game to assess given the conditions. I felt quite confident at half time that we'd go on to win. Blackburn looked solid defensively but didn't offer much going forward. We looked ok and created the better chances.

Then the rain got heavier and the game just became a bit of a joke. We still created chances after going down to 10 but I don't think anyone was going to score anything other than a fluke goal in those conditions.

I really wouldn't attach too much weight to individual performances on that showing. If you watch back the sheff utd highlights Vs the Blackburn ones, it's night and day between the 2 as to how the ball and the players are moving.
