Having now watched every game this season, its become very apparent that our most consistent approach in our attack is to find Leif. He's more often than not our only runner, and the one we look to to make things happen.
Now I've no issue with this of course, as he was extremely successful in our last outing in the championship. That said, I did notice on a few occasions Bristol City seemed to double up on him, and when this happens, our attacking threat drops dramatically.
He's an extreme athlete, but if he were to pick up an injury I feel we would be incredibly at risk of being half the team we are with him. We just have nobody to do what he does, our right side is almost non existent in an attacking sense.

At the moment most of our better attacks come down the left, but a lot of that is related to the fact Leif and Philogene have built an understanding.
That's what we require on the right. We had it in the promotion seasons with Burns and Clarke. That natural understanding of when Clarke would bomb beyond Burns/Burns knowing when to cover Clarke/Clarke moving towards Burns to distract the fullback. We've had a lot of changes on the right, we still are, but hopefully KM predominately sticks with his preferred right side and those players build that understanding. |  | | |

Some of that is from choice. Lots of times on Tuesday McAteer made runs into space and was completely ignored as the ball went over to the left again. Or the forward ball was so delayed that the opportunity had gone.
I think that will improve as he and Walle Egeli get up to speed. |  |
