Commercial solicitor recommendations 00:19 - Oct 11 with 548 viewssuffolkpoker

My father is selling a small plot with garages (block of garages).
Some of my quotes are eye watering for a £65k sale

Any recommendations? Thanks in advance

Depends a lot on whether you want good, or reasonable...

Round Ipswich you are looking at Birketts, Prettys, Ashtons.

If you look a little further, Mills & Reeve and Eversheds are available in Norwich / Cambridge.

I would have thought that such a transaction (being fairly simple and of relatively low value) does not need a solicitor who specialises in commercial property.

I would have thought that a bang average high street firm would suffice but it has to be borne in mind that any conveyancing transaction will involve work the cost of which may seem rather excessive given the low value in this case.

The other thing I would say in favour of the legal profession is that their fees (in my experience) are lower than estate agents (who in my view do very little), if you ignore things such as stamp duty and land registry fees which aren't down to solicitors' firms.

I think thats right. A bog standard conveyancer ought to be capable unless there is something unusual.
