We’ve been here before at this time of the season in the SPL.
Aberdeen were flying last season until they blew up spectacularly and the most predictable league in Europe reverted to its usual order.
Hearts will crumble, Celtic will be clear of them by December and Rangers will overhaul them some time in January.

I think you are underestimating two things:
Rangers are in genuine meltdown. An absolute shtshow right now.
Hearts are a consistent contender at the top, finishing 1st, 3rd, 4th, 3rd and 7th in their last five seasons.
The Muscat situation would be a nonsense if a non-League Chairperson did it, but for "one of the big two" in Scotland to do it is flabbergasting. As I say, utter meltdown.

Things are not well at Celtic at the moment, or at any ground that hosts them...And if Rangers appoint Muscat but have to wait five weeks for him to start then the rest of the season is probably going to taken up with settling the team and imposing his ideas, but they are set fair to move into the top half of the table and could manage third or fourth.
Macinnes has a great chance to improve his career at Tynecastle, having done a good job at Kilmarnock (including getting a tune out of Corrie Ndaba and then a fee from Serie A Lecce), so I can't see Hearts letting up yet. Shankland seems to have found the right club, long time servants Halkett and Kingsley are playing well. There seems to be a stability there that is lacking in the Glasgow giants at the moment.

And now it's 'not the Muscat' situation (sounds like a major boardroom decision when the Cobbolds were in charge at Town):
'Rangers are closing in on appointing Danny Rohl as their new head coach - less than a week after the German ruled himself out of the running.
The development comes hours after a deal to bring Kevin Muscat to Ibrox collapsed during advanced discussions.'
So they've sacked an inexperienced but potentially up and coming young manager and have now played safe by going back, with presumably an improved offer, to potentially appointing a less experienced up and coming young manager. Is this going to end well for either party ?

I rate Rohl, so can now see an upward curve for them.

And it can't get much worse!
As a manager for a lower level second tier English side with respectable gates, yes a pretty decent manager. And he did well to endure the Chnasiri antics for almost two years but eventually he walked. Now he is going into a top flight club with some of the most demanding supporters in the World and a squad of players whose egos are all over the place, especially after the dickering around that Russell Martin indulged in. It is going to take months for trust to be established I think, and during that time every other team is going to see a golden opportunity to get a prestigious scalp. I guess he knows what he is getting himself into, I hope he survives.

And the fact that Hearts are benefitting from the tried and tested Tony Bloom methodology which has recently been successful with Union Sainte-Gilloise, having been developed at Brighton.
