In three minutes, can you identify the 10 clubs from the nicknames given? Shouldn't be particularly difficult, although there are a couple of teams included who are the phoenix clubs of former League sides — these two now play in the National League North. One of those is arguably the hardest. The other eight all play in the 92.
I included Wolves but greyed them out as I didn't think it was worth including a team when their main nickname is basically their name...
There are four minutes to try and get all of the answers on this quiz, but do let me know if this seems a bit tight. (the quiz can also be taken untimed)
Neighbouring counties are listed alphabetically.
This is another "yellow box" quiz, so answers need to be entered into the corresponding highlighted boxes — if you are unsure of one, you can move onto another by selecting a different answer box.
Thanks again for taking the time to have a look at these quizzes!
The thumbnail I used is a screenshot of a satellite image of a local county tri-point...
Playing tonight in the first qualifying round of the 2025–26 Champions League. (the Club World Cup hasn't even finished yet...)
Winners in 1986 and runners-up in '89. They won the Romanian league last season yet they begin in the very first stage of the competition alongside such giants as Milsami Orhei, The New Saints and Lincoln Red Imps.
Forest's opponents in 1979, Malmö, are also involved in the first qualifying round.
Teams who enter at the earliest stage of the CL could play up to 25 matches to potentially win the tournament...
This is another little quiz I've made if anyone would like to have a go. I've not tried one in this format before but it was pretty straightforward to put together and hopefully it works well.
The names of 20 different castles from across England are given and it's just a case of clicking/tapping on the ceremonial county in which each castle is located. Each answer (county) is used only once, and there are five minutes to try and get them all — do let me know if you think the time limit is a bit restrictive or if it's okay. Also, the order of the castles given will change each time you take the quiz.
A few of the castles are located in this part of the world (if you're from East Anglia, that is).
Anyone who can get a full house on this is a certified quiz whizz. 🤓
There are eight minutes to try and identify the 24 commentators from past and present, though do let me know if you think this time limit is too harsh (or lenient). Some of them will be more recognisable than others.
Answers need to be entered into the corresponding highlighted yellow boxes. If you are unsure of one, you can move on to another by selecting a different answer box. Make sure you are on the correct one when typing in your answer — I sometimes make this mistake and it's annoying!
One of the answers was a Welshman, however he commentated on English football.
2x Ipswich (one wearing last season's away shirt, the other an original 1999–2001) 👍👍 1x West Ham 👎 1x Spurs 1x Real Madrid 1x Inter Milan ...and 1x a retro Leicester shirt. 🤨
Think there might have also been an Arsenal one, and possibly others I can't remember.
Off to the Tendring Show next weekend so hopefully will see one or two people wearing the 25/26 shirts. That's where I first saw someone with one of the new shirts last year.
What's the weirdest/most random place you have seen someone wearing a particular football top? I saw a young lad in Braintree yesterday with a Huddersfield shirt on. Bit of a surprise.
