I'm at a pub. Near the house I completed on today.
I am planning how to setup this house, largely for my own personal benefit and preference.
Used to have my own hifi but also a sort of family / house one in the basement. New house much smaller but fewer occupants....
So I have two nice systems. Would it be absurd to have a setup with turntable in the kitchen? It's sort of l shaped so some distance from food prep and job...
On a slightly connected note, anyone good on washing machine installation? Found the taps. No problem. But unlike every other place I have ever moved to, there is no waste pipe sticking up to drop the out hose into. There is a sink with pipes next to it. Presumably I'm going to have to plumb into that. I'm baffled how the previous owners did it though!

If there's a stickey out ,blanked out bit of smaller pipe coming out of the waste pipe under the sink drain trap, that's the pipe that the washing m/c waste pipe fits into. HTH. As you can tell, i'm no plumber.

Not sure about the turntable but if you have the space why not?
Re the washing machine. My lovely neighbour Leroy, when he bought the house the people who lived there before took the W/M, as per the contract so Leroy was aware. But the t@ssers also took the waster pipe and connector Leroy wasn't expecting that. Maybe your previous owner has done something similar?

Have you thought about a Sonos system? That way you won't need to have the turntable in the kitchen. You can hook up the turntable to a Sonos Amp, get a few Sonos speakers around the house and wirelessly play music from your turntable in what ever room you want. Or all rooms at the same time.

I've looked again at the photo I took. There is an odd bit at the top under the sink. Might be okay!
I'm now thinking full DJ station in the kitchen.

Go for it, we spend most of our social time in the kitchen/ diner, wish I had set something up for my turntable. Think I'd keep the records away from a kitchen though.
