Genuine question about Hirst. Firstly. Big fan. Always have been. Defended him and even ladapo when it came to goals being scored prior to orem and the role he had within the team outside of being a scorer. I also said last year I felt we needed hirst in some games more than delap as our style was built around that profile of forward. Fast forward to this season. Hirst just looks a different player. People have mentioned confidence. But why hasn't he got it? He knows this level. He's capable of it. Certain aspects of his game are off. His hold up is poor. His passing has been suspect. He's finishing let's be honest has been terrible. But I'll ignore that as I said before hes never been prolific in front of goal. But all those elements that made him a very good forward for us seems lost. I commented early on this season he looked like he was trying to be delap. With quick turns etc. Has he perhaps had his training changed over the months and has got lost along the way. You don't just lose what you had. Last season I felt he looked fast. I remember saying he looked rapid and had clearly been working on himself. So far he looks really sluggish.

Maybe a few injuries have took its toll, Il agree his first touch is way off, Last two years championship league one it stuck not sure how you would lose that but he has, Also it could be the pressure of the main man leading the line maybe just trying to hard to make things happen then it looks off, but like I said I'd still start him, In a couple of posts I've mentioned our policy of not buying a striker for substantial money as we've spent a lot of money on our left Clarke Philly 40million plus, and left side macateer 30million plus, so not to address the striker position seems very odd, I can only assume on paper Hirst should have been to much for this league which as we're discussing isn't happening ATM,
